LOPEZ GIMENEZ TORRES is a law firm of Lawyers and Chartered Industrial Property Agents (and collaborating Engineers and Economists) established in the city of Alicante, Spain, which offers specialized legal services to Spanish and international clients.

Alicante has become the European trademark capital, since the opening of the EU’s Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM – Trademarks and Designs), in 1996.

The firm was founded in 1996 by the current managing director, Mr. José Antonio López, Lawyer and Chartered Industrial Property Agent, and the prestigious Ecuadorean Lawyer, Dr. José Rafael Bustamante, with the name in those days (1996-1999) of BUSTAMANTE & LOPEZ.

In 1999, new partners joined the firm, which were, for their part, well-known law firms developing international practice:

- DUANE MORRIS LLP, from the United States of America.
- BUSTAMANTE & BUSTAMANTE, from Ecuador.

In this moment (1999-2003), the firm was called BUSTAMANTE, LÓPEZ, DUANE MORRIS & GIMENEZ TORRES, and it considerably increased its presence and activity within the international commercial law practice, and the intellectual and industrial property agencies, fields in which it gained a great prestige, and it was widely known in the professional circles of the speciality.

In 2003, the firm became LÓPEZ, GIMÉNEZ TORRES & PARTNERS, when the Spanish partners purchased the shares held by the American firms, and finally it was called LOPEZ GIMENEZ TORRES during the year 2005 and up to date.

LOPEZ GIMENEZ TORRES clients are businesses and companies from the Valencia region of Spain, other Spanish regions, or any other Countries worldwide, from self-employed workers to some of the biggest multinational companies in the world, important trade associations, governmental bodies and patent & trademark offices from some States and national and international chambers of commerce. LOPEZ GIMENEZ TORRES also renders legal services to individuals, mainly private inventors, authors of works protected by copyright and foreign residents in Spain.
